Interior Design Residential project

A Modern and Warm Home in Harmony with Nature

Designed as a single-family home anchored in a natural and peaceful environment, this project is based on the A Capella B model. With a modern and warm style, the project emphasizes interior design, featuring a central fireplace as a structural element of the living space. A comprehensive project where the balance between comfort, ambiance, and respect for the site guided all decisions.

The Project

The project was developed with a flexibility-focused approach to adapt the A Capella B model to the client’s actual needs without increasing the home’s square footage. The objective was to preserve the plan’s balance while making targeted and coherent adjustments.

The upper floor layout was redesigned to integrate a second full bathroom, functional and well-integrated into the existing configuration. The basement was fully finished to provide a versatile space meeting the desired use without compromising the home’s overall organization.

The lot selection also played a key role in the project. Its configuration provided the desired tranquility, a generous backyard, and a placement that respected the forest cover. Finally, several elements inspired by the A Capella C model were integrated and optimized into the A Capella B plan, delivering a home perfectly aligned with the expressed expectations.

Our Vision for the Project

The project vision was based on creating a warm interior ambiance in continuity with the site’s natural character. The central fireplace, with its full stone elevation, mantel, and wooden shelves, was designed as a true anchor point for the living room, structuring the spaces while enhancing the desired comfort and atmosphere.

Large windows facing the forest were integrated to maximize natural light and maintain a constant connection with the outdoor environment. The fully finished basement complements this vision by providing a versatile space designed to integrate naturally with the entire home.

The choice of simple, durable, and natural materials reflected a clear intention of coherence with the surroundings, allowing the home to anchor harmoniously in its environment while meeting daily needs.

Central Fireplace as Anchor Point

The three-sided fireplace, with its full stone elevation and wooden elements, structures the living space and creates a warm ambiance at the heart of the home.

Fully Finished Basement

The basement was designed as a versatile space in its own right, enabling functional use without compromising comfort.

Identified Priorities

The clients’ wish was to live in a calm and intimate environment surrounded by nature. The lot had to offer a large backyard, distant neighbors, and direct access to a preserved natural setting. The residential project’s ambiance naturally stood out, both for its natural character and for its respect of the site with minimal clearing.

Inside, two needs were clearly identified. A fully finished basement was essential to integrate a personal training room. Adding a second full bathroom on the upper floor was also among the priorities, even though the original model included only one.
