Interior Design Residential project

A Well-Designed Multigenerational Home

This multigenerational project was custom-built in a side-by-side configuration including two garages. The home features a contemporary style with a modern rustic touch. The fireplace occupies a central place in the living space.

The Project

This bi-generational construction project took shape to allow two households to share the same lot while maintaining their autonomy and privacy. The side-by-side bi-generational configuration naturally emerged as the most coherent solution to meet this family reality.

Each dwelling was designed with its own independent entrance, while being connected by a common vestibule. This approach fosters daily proximity without compromising the independence of each household. The entire project was completed with a new, durable, and maintenance-free home in mind, designed to provide comfort and peace of mind for the long term.

Our Vision for the Project

After analyzing the needs, our housing advisor proposed a visit to his own home, whose configuration closely matched the expressed expectations. This meeting served as the starting point for the project. The plan was used as a foundation, then completely reworked to integrate custom adjustments, both in terms of spatial organization and aesthetic choices.

The fireplace was designed as a structural element of the living space. Its integration, with a complete ceramic elevation and natural wood accents, aimed to enhance the feeling of warmth and create a gathering point that supports the everyday atmosphere without ever being imposing.

The side-by-side organization, combined with separate entrances and a common vestibule, reflects this vision of balance between proximity and autonomy. Each choice was made to deliver a coherent home, well-rooted in its family context and suited for long-term occupancy.

Central Fireplace as a Structural Element

The fireplace was integrated at the heart of the living space with a complete ceramic elevation and natural wood accents. It contributes to creating a warm and enveloping atmosphere, particularly appreciated during colder seasons, while fitting with understated elegance into the overall project.

Independent Entrances with Common Vestibule

Each dwelling has its own independent entrance, connected by a common vestibule. This thoughtful choice facilitates intergenerational living while maintaining a clear separation between the two residences.

Project Priorities Identified by Our Clients

Our multigenerational home project needed to allow us to share certain spaces without compromising privacy or the lifestyle of each household. The side-by-side configuration therefore naturally emerged as a balanced solution.

The choice of a new home also reflected a desire for simplicity and long-term peace of mind. Living in a natural environment was also among our priorities.
